For a celebrity, there can only be one thing worse than looks going to the toilet or their bank account diminishing, and that’s lost fame. Looks are part of human nature and people learn to adjust, money is in their control so any mismanagement is completely their fault, but fame is a strange drug so few get to experience. Coming off its high can be catastrophic to the fragile egos of those that got to experience the ride.
OK! is reporting that VH1, the king of trash television, is bringing us Confessions of a Teen Idol. This exploitative schlock revolves around fallen stars of the ’80s and ’90s and captures their desperation to reclaim any scrap of fame they once were privy to. The faded beauties who are yet to be confirmed are Christopher Atkins from The Blue Lagoon (pictured), Eric Nies from the original The Real World, Jamie Walters from 90210, and Jeremy Jackson who played David Hasselhoff’s son on Baywatch.
In these times when tramps like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton make a mockery of the Hollywood system, fame sure has become cheap. Considering that these former hunks are probably not getting too many acting offers, they’ve probably come to terms with the humiliation of appearing in such a patronizing show. Heck, if home pornos didn’t stall the rise of the above mentioned bimbos, how much harm can be inflicted by looking desperate on TV?
(For the Record: Jeremy Jackson has his very own sex tape coming out soon.)
